REAWAKEN:

Strengthening Connections through Repurposing

Who are we

Reawaken is an online upcycling service with the purpose of reviving old forgotten fabric items and turning them into new trendy accessories. This business is on a mission to reduce textile waste while adding sentimental value to each product. Reawaken focuses on sentimental and familial values in addition to creating meaningful connections among families.

Process

For this project, my team and I had to come up with a business idea, utilizing the blue ocean strategy. The idea not only had to have creativity and an understanding of the client but a probability of success. We were aiming to market to parents and grandparents alike in order to gift these products to their children. This is where the sentimentality comes through. These products include a tote bag, shoulder purse, duffle bag, bucket hat, trucker hat, men’s tie, and hair clips. Please take a look at my full project below.

For this mood board, my team and I wanted to translate the brand image for Reawaken. We wanted to focus on the bright colors and the images of children using our products. We wanted to evoke feelings of warmth and playfulness at the core with our products being the center of enjoyment for the wearer.

We were assigned a financial sheet to calculate what our predicted year-one expenses and projected revenue would be. Small businesses, realistically, do not break even within the first year. Our strategy was to increase our marketing budget so that Reawaken will have increased brand awareness for the next year. Our main source of revenue comes from holidays and special occasions where these products would be presented.

One of our biggest partnerships was with Fab Scrap. We decided that our launch party, beginning on August 1st, would help Reawaken gain more traction for not only our products but our sustainability mission. This would be located in Philadelphia and we would have live artisans creating sample products to post on our social media pages. This way we can help gain the trust of the customer if they can view the process.

A large portion of our marketing budget will go to our partnership with Chip and Joanna Gaines on the spread of the HGTV magazine. We believe this couple best aligns with our brand values of family, generosity, and compassion. Reawaken will have a collaboration with Chip and Joanna Gaines to sell a limited edition products as apart of their Magnolias line.
