MARC JACOBS 2011 SPRING READY TO WEAR
When I began finding my own style, I took inspiration from the trends of the 70s and wore flared pants, cropped turtlenecks, and colorful boots. I took that into consideration when finding time to analyze a collection that took inspiration from previous decades. The Marc Jacobs 2011 Spring Ready to Wear takes different elements of the 70s, taking inspiration from Studio 54, New York Dolls, Taxi Driver (1976) as this article states, and brings them to the runway. These references are what made Marc Jacobs fall in love with fashion to begin with. I enjoyed the research process for this project because I was able to look through the different looks from the collection and realized how much I wanted to recreate these looks myself.
