CIRCULAR FASHION X VCU:

Rams for Circular Fashion

My team and I were assigned to create a campaign that revolved around making the Richmond area more sustainable. Our mission is to illustrate the impact of circular fashion to our target audience, the VCU & RVA community. By doing so we are going to guide them step by step on how to make fashion sustainable through the opportunities and education that the RAMS FOR CIRCULAR FASHION campaign provides. Additionally, our target audience cannot take action without interest. Our special events are an accumulation of effective strategies reachable through our audience, while also improving word of mouth to an audience outside of our communities. The catalyst to upstarting circular fashion on a bigger scale begins with this campaign. Please take a look at my full project below.

My team and I started to focus on the lack of action being taken to reduce textile waste not just in Richmond but specifically in the United States. This is why we put emphasis on the goal to educate and engage. We cannot force others to take action, however, we can persuade others through our campaign which is adding recyclable textile cans throughout campus.

My main role in this project was to work on the logo for our campaign. Iā€™m not an artist nor did I have the skills to create a logo at the time, I was able to contact a friend of mine to discuss the vision for the design we wanted in order to digitally draw the logo. My friend and I discussed the different color combinations and we were able to come up with our final logo at the top right.

We have a large portion of marketing through Instagram. Two members of our team were a part of the Eco Fashion club at VCU, one of them being the president. So, we posted about our campaign through the official VCU Eco Fashion instagram, utilizing hashtags that will help spread word of mouth. On top of that, we created several polls and Q&A posts through the story feature.
